Engineering development for humanity

The Michigan Tech Master's International Peace Corps Program (MI) is the only such engineering program of its kind.

After two semesters of on-campus coursework, MI students serve for 27 months in the U.S. Peace Corps. In addition to typical Peace Corps activities, MI students execute an engineering research project during their service. Upon completion, students return to campus to defend their research and share experiences. To date 58 students (42% women) with 15 different undergraduate majors from 42 universities have participated in this program. They have served in the following countries:
Belize, Benin, Cameroon, Dominican Republic, East Timor, Fiji, Ghana, Honduras, Jamaica, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Macedonia, Madagascar, Palau, Panama, Philippines, Samoa, Uganda, Uzbekistan, and Vanuatu.
